Our Story
The Natural Choice Directory is a comprehensive guide for green and healthy living. It is both a local directory and a rich source of information for green businesses, natural health care, natural food stores and services, and resources for spiritual practice. The first edition of the Directory was published in 1995 for Puget Sound WA. Over the past 18 years, our team has continued to work hard to connect local businesses that are conscientious about our environment with like-minded consumers.
The annual print Directory is now available free to readers at over 750 prominent locations around the Puget Sound. Common distribution points include grocery and health food stores, natural health practitioners' offices, and libraries. Pick up your copy today.
The Directory has also built a large online community. NaturalChoice.net, our web edition, provides up-to-date business listings, educational resources, and community event schedules. Stephen: Do what you like. Like what you do. Apparently I like it enough that I have been here for more than a decade. I really enjoy connecting readers with businesses for a more sustainable lifestyle. As for my hobbies, oil painting and rock climbing are increasingly more environmentally friendly. I don't have to feel as guilty as before.
Tammy: Growing up under the mixed influences of Taoism and Buddhism, I have taken "tread lightly on earth" as my motto. I like to keep life simple. I am fortunate to be able to share my beliefs and values every day with our fellow supporters.
Tod: The "usual way" of living simply did not work very well for me or my family. I have discovered a lot of alternatives to the lifestyle I grew up with, and am much happier for it. It makes me happier still to share my discoveries with others, and, hopefully, help make their lives a little better.
