The amount of land needed to grow crops worldwide is at a peak, according to researchers from Rockefeller University's Program for the Human Environment. The authors say that thanks to higher yields and slow population growth, no new land is needed for agriculture. Furthermore, an existing area of farmland more than twice the size of France may be able to return to its natural state by the year 2060.

Americans Installed a Record Number of Rooftop Solar Panels This Year

Developers installed 684 megawatts of solar panels in the U.S. in the third quarter, 44 percent more than a year earlier, as residential projects rose to a record, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association.
