WHY YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT BLOOD PH?
Most people when asked can relate to the accepted average body temperature of 98.6 degrees. If you have ever been sick with the flu or a cold, likely you experienced a rise in temperature while your body broke into a fever, fighting to get back down and maintain a safe variance of 98.6. Should ones' body temperature rise or fall too significantly, it is expected that malfunction and ultimately, death will result.
Our blood pH is like body temperature; it cannot dramatically rise or decline without significant health consequences. The pH of a fluid is the measure of the hydrogen ion (H-) concentration; simply said, it is the acidity or alkalinity of any liquid solution. The body strictly regulates the blood pH with optimum function being between 7.35-7.45 (with a neutral pH at 7.0). The lower the pH number, the more acidic the fluid will be.
Understand the Risks:
A highly acidic blood pH level puts all the body's organs at risk. Liver function is particularly at risk when acids accumulate, as it is a key organ for the removal of waste from the body. Not only can an acidic pH level create symptoms such as headaches and colds, ignore the condition for an extended period of time, further discomfort can result, such as back and neck pain. Acidic levels can make body muscles tight leading to fatigue, soreness, and pain.
What You Can Do:
Getting your body to a neutral state is possible. Incorporating foods and drinks that are more alkaline can help the body break down and destroy excessive acid waste. Adopt a lifestyle that eliminates refined sugar and refined carbohydrates from your food intake as much as possible in order to prevent further acidic buildup.
