Farmers Market & Us

Updated: Feb 4, 2019

After months of hibernation through the rainy winter, one thing I really look forward to every spring is the start of the farmers markets. It is not just the wonderful food, but the atmosphere and the sense of community, like a local gathering, that I really enjoy. Many would agree with me. We have seen a proliferation of farmers markets throughout the Puget Sound. In some locations, these seasonal markets have turned into year-round markets.

"Chickens are not raised in a plastic wrap," Wade, our guest, reminded us. Farmers markets are great venues to cultivate relationships between farmers and the communities they serve. Farmers can help to educate the public where food comes from and how it is being grown. This connection ultimately builds the relationship between food and the consumers.

Tune in to find out more about how farmers markets encourage food sustainability, and benefit local agriculture and communities. Do the tasting yourself!
