The quest to find lasting true love is as old as human existence. There is no shortage of self-help books on the subject. A dating magazine estimated that there are more than 2,500 online dating services in the US alone, with 1,000 new ones opening every year. So with all the help, are we finding the true love we long for? While the 12% decrease in US divorce rate in the last 10 years is encouraging, the statistics may not tell the full story. (source: CDC) The lower divorce rate may just be a result of the drop in marriage rate which has decreased at even a faster pace. So where can we find the magic potion of love?
Luckily, you don't need to look too far. The potion of love may just be at your doorstep. A successful relationship starts with oneself, says Deborah Stelfox, an intuitive matchmaker and our guest of the week. It takes two to make a relationship. It should not be a surprise that each one needs to do his half to make the relationship work. The first step is heal the emotions within and, as Deborah called it, be "date ready" before tiptoeing into the dating circle. Once in the circle, let the mind open up to possibilities. Don't be too quick to jump to conclusion, Deborah hinted.
As always, don't hesitant to ask for help. Many relationship counselors, life coaches and professional matchmakers are happy to share their experiences. You can also add some metaphysical twist to your love venture. Feng shui works with spatial arrangement and orientation which is believed to affect the flow of energy, hence your love life. In numerology, numbers associated with a person are believed to contain significant information about the person's character, thus providing hints to whether potential relationship would be successful.
